Mounting shifters inside brakes?

My brake levers are more two finger than one. (no jokes please) But when tackling the more gnarly stuff having just two fingers round the grips feels a bit insecure. I've moved my shifters and levers in more, but could still do with moving the levers further in. The only issue would then be that id struggle to reach the shifters.
Is there any issue with swapping them round so the shifters are between the brakes and the grip, meaning these can be closer, but the brake lever is further away meaning I can use just one finger?

Put them whichever way round works best for you.
Alternatively use Matchmakers if SRAM or iSpec mounts if Shimano and your brakes (and funds) allow.“Life has been unfaithful

Do what you want. It's all about what works for you.
Just one tip, don't over tighten brake or gear levers. Just pinch them enough to hold them in place. That way when you fall off they'll move rather than break or bend and you can just move them back and get on with your ride.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Thanks all, I'll have a look tomorrow and see how it feels. I spec looks good, but not sure I can justify the money right now. Other things planned.Daddy, Husband, Designer, Biker, Gamer, Geek

Always use two fingers. I tried for quite a while to graduate to one finger, but it never feels like I have the same control/sensitivity.All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

Thanks for the replies. Tried it, doesnt work. Levers are now too short and my hand ot too close to the shifters. Ah well, ive and learn. Back we go then.Daddy, Husband, Designer, Biker, Gamer, Geek
