I'm having a hell of a time trying to find a mount for my lights that fits my bars. They're the 2016 model (if that makes a difference) - I can't find anything that fits on the bar because of the flat profile. Best I can get at the moment is the Lezyne front light mount with the rubber strap:

but this isn't great because the curve of the mount is designed to fit a rounded bar profile, meaning the light is permanently pointed slightly up due to the angle of the bars. What I need is something like the rubber strap, but with a mount that sits flat on the strap (if that makes sense?)

I've looked at all sorts of mounts, closest call was the Cateye one with the ratchet strap, but the strap's not long enough to fit over the bar and through the screwlock at the back

Anyone else got the same bars and successfully fitted a light to them?

  • Some lights have a "rotation" feature in the mount. If they do they have a little screw that holds that bit to the rest of the upper piece of the mount.

Buy a mount of the style that does fit your handlebars. Drill a hole and countersink a tiny bit in the upper piece of that mount. Run a very small bit longer screw through how the rotation piece normally assembles and also through the hole you drilled in the mount that does fit your bars.

It may make it so that the light permanently points dead-straight forward with no adjustment side to side.
