Hi all. Getting a bit bored of having a muddied/wet/stained hydration pack. Quick look online and suitable covers available seem very limited. The Hump ones specifically mention being unsuitable for hydration packs. There's a camelbak one which appears ok but what does everyone else use? Ok, i get the concept of just leaving mud etc to dry then dust off but mine is going way past that now and i just want to stop the crap hitting it as its getting very grubby and stained. And yes, i have a rear mudguard. And no, I don't really want to wrap a Tesco carrier over it. Any suggestions welcome please guys.

What hydration pack do you have? Have you thought about covering the tube as well?

    Here's an Osprey one:

I have a Camelbak Cloud walker, so no worries for me.

Camelbak Mule for me, enough room for scran, 3ltr water, tools and jacket/waterproofs if the conditions change.

Had the Camelbak Chaos before, was good too just not enough space for me.

Can't say I've ever had to clean the reservoir, just bung it in the freezer after emptying it.

Also don't really notice riding with a pack as I always have.

Mines a Hydrapak Laguna with 3 litre bladder. Google it and it's navy coloured with white zips/trim. You'll see from the top strap positions that anything simply like a big shower cap won't stay put for long. Not bothered about covering the tube no.

Schmako - thanks, but not sure you've picked up what I'm after.

    Oops, my bad.

I usually just let mine get muddy..

My 35/65ltr berghaus ones come with built in covers, I'll use them to save the camping gear getting wet right enough.

    Similar to this.

Mine has a built in one but I only remember it's there after a muddy ride. Which is a bit late.

65 litre? How big do these packs go up to?

I mean, how heavy is too heavy? I personally think anything over 40L is stupid. I wonder how ridiculous the size can go...

Sorry for hijacking the thread... I just saw the opportunity to ask.

Looks good CD, nice that it's built in to it too. Perhaps I'm wrong in assuming that the elastic won't stay over the top of the pack then as the straps are the same on that pack as mine.

...ahh, no. Yours folds out from the top so is stiched in at the top which makes sense now.

Oh balls to it, Just gonna let it continue to get filthy. Think I've found a gap in the market, watch out for me on Dragon's Den...

It has little clips on the straps, so stays up fine. I just always forget it's there.

All the little tool pockets and things are useful though.

Have got an evoc elasticated cover http://www.evocsports.com/products/acce ... ver-sleeve. It stays put and keeps mud off but water tends to collect in the bottom when it's raining

I'm going to buck the "I'm a man, I let stuff get dirty *flex muscles*" trend.

I love the cover for my Osprey, less dirty stuff means less crap being dragged into the house/having to do more cleaning at some point/keeps things dry when out on ride.

Shove cover into washing machine, job done.
  • I just got a sweet deal on a Shimano Unzen U15. So I'm looking for a cover, as well.

Here's one with a multitude of sizes:
