Hello everyone.
I've decided to buy my first mtb. I am 5'11' (180cm) tall. I'll use it to cycle to work. I know for this price I will get a sack of crap, but no more money in a budget Can you help me to choose a model?
Found that one in store but gears and breaks looks poorly http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/m ... ntain-bike
Wondering if I can get decent second handed under 200?
Cheers.

Ok for the money, but that fork is nasty and heavy.
If it's not a long ride I'd look at something like this, much cheaper and will do the job. I commute on an ancient Kona with canti brakes and skinny tyres. Does the job fine.

I'd consider a decent used bike, you'll get a bette bike for the money.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Unless you plan to go off-road a rigid frame and even single speed (assuming you don't climb 2.7 miles of 1:4)
You can get something really cheap ... I have a commuting bike I never use but isn't really worth selling on eBay...
Random ebay pick £15 if you lived near Crawley...

From your link, if your near Barnsley you could also check out if JE James has any 2016 bargains.0 -
Something like these
(If you wanted to spend up top £250)

I agree with the others, an MTB is overkill unless you plan to do a spot of off roading. If a full on road bike doesn't appeal, then the Subway is a good buy, as are the Decathlons, but if you can stretch to £300 you get a nice jump up in components with the Voodoo Marasa:
