Get my Giant PXC2 29er wheels serviced or Buy New Superstars?

I ve got a 2013 Giant Anthem 29er, which I bought second hand last year and have ragged about all summer/ Autumn.
Its got PXC2 29er wheelset.
I ve noticed a fair bit of movement in the front hub ( 15MM Bolt Thru ) and The rear free hub probably hasn't got much life left in it.
In my time of ownership I ve had a couple of unsuccessful attempts at going Tubeless with the wheels and Schwalbe Rocket Ralph tyres ( Gorilla tape etc ) and as mentioned never succeeded .
My question is should I pay out for a wheelset service, New bearings/ Freehub and Truing and have another go at the tubeless set up with something like Bontrager xr4's or should I just buy a new wheelset such as Superstars Tech 4 DS25'S
which are tubeless ready.
Think my wheel service will come in at £120 all in, and I can get the DS 25'S for about £200.
Would the reconditioned PXC2'S be a better bet than the superstars, or have things moved on?

I m happy I could do this on the front/ but wouldn't feel so confident on the rear . Take it Id have to remove the freehub.
Used to do a lot of MTB , Mainly a roadie now and due to laziness lost a lot of Technical knowledge or the necessity to service my own kit!
Take they are all sealed bearing cartridges? Nothing ball and cone? just needs an Allen key and cone spanner to remove the free hub, then a drift to take the bearings out.0 -
Rear could be cup and cone. Not sure what hubs Shimano use. Either way it's a simple job.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

All Shimano are cup and cone, but presume you meant what bearings the Giant uses?
Servicing the bearings on the rear is really no harder than the front!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
I have a set of PXC1 29er wheels, don't know the difference between 1 and 2's but my hubs are a giant branded shell on top of DT Swiss 240 internals. Gorrilla tape tubeless works for me with Racing Ralphs (snakeskin version)0
