Zwift power / Garmin power

Hi

On a few occasions Zwift loses the signal from my powermeter, this means that my average power and TSS is lower than what my Garmin has recorded. Yesterday I was doing a 20 minute effort, garmin hit X watts but Zwift was about 15W lower due to about 7 or 8 dropouts. It's Zwift that is uploaded automatically to Training Peaks and Strava.

I like the auto upload as it records the "mileage" as well as all my power data but where there are dropouts in Zwift it can throw out my overall TSS or average power milestones quite a bit.

Is there anything I can do or is this just the way it is? Also to lessen the dropouts can I buy an extension to the ant+ stick that is in my laptop? (I do have an ipad air 2 on the way which will take over next month).

Apologies for the essay.

USB extension, mine sits below my Neo out of the way. If that doesn't work, is your home wifi near? Wifi and ANT+ both broadcast on 2.4ghz so it might be a case of manually playing around with the channels via your router
And the people bowed and prayed, to the neon god they made.

Thanks for this, I'll await the ipad and see how that performs or have a look at the router. Cheers.

Do you have a separate headunit to record the ride?
Zwift doesnt do any analysis so you are not losing out on that score..
Dropouts when you are trying stay with a break in a race however would have me throwing things at Zwift.

My ant dongle on the laptop is perhaps 4 feet away in front or me... I only rarely get a Vector pedal drop.. more when I havent actually restarted the laptop for days on end.

I'm hoping the ipad air 2 with bluetooth will help but yes you are right the dropouts when racing on zwift kind of kills it. What I have decided to do for recording purposes is to upload the garmin file into training peaks, remove the time and TSS so this at least holds peak power achievements, what I then do is add any missing TSS to the Zwift upload.

My laptop is around 6 inches from stem, there are no dropouts on the stages to garmin, only stages to zwift. Fingers crossed the ipad air will sort it.
