I know there's an Ebay Monstrosity thread, but that's just for bikes.

I was looking for glass on ebay yesterday, and found this...

....£20  this person lists loads of this stuff, and appears to be selling it too.

The older I get, the better I was.

The gf's sister buys loads of tat like that, she fills bowls with it in her living room. Wonder if this is how much she pays for it, if so she's even more stupid than I thought  (I once managed to convince her that mushrooms in fields were eggs laid by cows, perhaps the rumors that many people in Bristol are inbred are true)
  • Slightly OT but, over priced things on Ebay.

    So, for example:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sonos-SONOS-P ... Sw8oFX0fxl

There were some at over £700 before Xmas.

RRP is £429. Everyone selling them at £40 off that in the lead up to Xmas.

So, why does ebay and Amazon marketplace have so many over RRP items? Some sort of accounting scam?

An old work colleague of mine ran an eBay business as a side line, selling bits and pieces for long distance lorry drivers ie; mini kettles, blankets etc etc. He said that he made more sales by adding to the RRP, rather than getting into a race to the bottom. Also to keep in mind are the costs of a commercial enterprises on eBay. Far more than flogging the cycling stuff or other tat one wants to clear out with a personal account.
