Fastest man on 2 wheels over 100

Robert Marchand (pictured with a niece) has set a new record as the record holder for 100km on track for a man over 100 years old (he's 101 years young). For info his HRM was 157bpm. Marchand completed the 100km in 4 hours 17 minutes and 27 second, an average of over de 23 km/h.

Italian press say it's not his choice, but the doctors don't want to grant him a medical certificate he needs to keep riding "competitively".

What a shame, I wonder if he could get away by using a trike instead... I suspect they are worried about him losing balance and going down

A real inspiration.... as an old sod myself (but a youngster by Robert Marchand's standard) it helps keep the motivation to keep pushing (or should I say "pedaling") for as long as possible. here's wishing Robert a continued active life.
