How specific are spokes?

I broke a spoke on an Bontrager AT-750 wheel. A halfords guy gave me a 292mm spoke but its not as long as the original. I think I need a 294 mm spoke. Naturally a Trek spoke would be ideal and I will try my LBS who sold me the bike. Failing that the nearest Trek store is an hour away. HOWEVER, failing that if I find a 294mm spoke elsewhere, are they fairly standard?

They are standard lengths. Trek don't make spokes, they probably use DT Swiss.

Looks like a branded mid range Formula wheel, any standard j-bend spoke will be fine
