To qualify it must be 7.5 minutes long or greater.

I'll start.

Stargazer by Rainbow. In my opinion it's epic.

If I play 'Legs' by ZZ Top twice that would be long enough. But its more about the video really :)

Are you sure that's a tea break and not another kind of break? :D

I'd go with Telegraph Road by Dire Straits.
Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy.
  • Oh Well Pts 1&2 by Fleetwood Mac or I Heard It Through The Grapevine by CCR

Shine On You Crazy Diamond, by da Floyd.

    The Prophets Song - Queen

Off the 'A Night At The Opera' album, if you've never heard it check it out, it's properly epic!

Well it doesn't quite fall into the category of videos that you watch with the sound turned off :P Wonder why it's well known in Manchester?

Not really my genre but if we are going for epic rock songs then I'd probably choose Bat Out of Hell or Freebird
[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]
  • Blinded by the Light by Manfred Mann's Earthband (the long version).
  • Two that pop immediately into mind are Sinnerman by Nina Simone or Master of Puppets by Metallica. Bit of a contrast there I suppose.

Child In Time - Deep Purple.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Peter Green - I've Got a Mind to Give Up Living

Based on BB King's All Over Again. BB King
There are many Peter Green tracks that are epic. The blues guitarist that gave BB chills.

    Worried Dream

This one is only 4 mins long so doesn't meet Goo's criteria, but epic non the less.

    Venturing into blues rock, nominate:

    Sloe Gin by Joe Bonamassa
  • Bit of a weird favourite of mine since I heard it on Tommy Vance's rock show all them years ago - Grendel by Marillion.
If you're having a tea break, might as well have another coffee and more biscuits.

Eric D. - I forgot about Like A Hurricane - fantastic choice. Lots of Neil young numbers get extended to great lengths on stage, eg Rocking in the Free World.

In fact just about every song on Weld fits this category

The best have already been nominated; Stargazer, Karn Evil 9.

Awaken by Yes was the one where I got it, how a song could be better by going on for much longer than normal so that's in, so is And You And I by the same bunch. Love And Only Love by Neil Young is tremendous and fits the time requirement as is and does Joey - Bob Dylan. Stargazer would be first choice tho.

    2112 Overture - Rush

More of a lunch break track.

    "Weekender", Flowered Up

A full 10 minutes or so

    And the video is excellent.

Edit: not really "rock", but hey

It's just a hill. Get over it.
