Hi,
Recently my chain has been getting stuck between bottom jockey wheel and rear mech cage. Happens in most gear combinations.
Its a 105 5800 11 speed rear mech and the only thing i have noticed comparing to my other bikes is that the rear mech has play in it.
Anything else i should be looking for? why is this happening?
cheers
Tom

Have you changed the chain lately?0
-
yes, I have0

Did you keep it the same length as the old ones?0
-
yes chain is the same length as the one on there before0

Spring gone in the mech maybe? Have you done anything else to the bike?0
-
havent done anything else that would effect rear shifting.
Could it be the play at the mounting point pivot?0 -
If its the bottom jockey gear its happen on, perhaps the chain is arriving at the mech at the wrong angle...is the rear mech aligned correctly? Does it happen in a particular gear combination?Half man, Half bike0

And the rear mech screw is tight? So its not coming loose from the frame?
Maybe photos will help?0 -
Might be also worth having a look at the jockey wheels. I seem to get through a set in about 12-18 months. If the teeth are worn and/or there is too much play in the wheel then that may be leading to the chain slipping off. If you are unsure then just disassemble/reassemble and see. Only takes a about 5-10 minutes and they seem to benefit from a clean/relube once in a while anyway.0

Agreed, jockey wheel bearings are the number1 suspect.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
