I'm putting together a build using 5800 105 11 speed shifters & mech's and have a 6700 10 speed chainset I would like to use.

Will this cause issues in shifting from small to big ring if I use an 11 speed chain or do I need a specific 11 speed chainset????

You mean you have an 10 speed Ultrega crank-set?
The inside of all chains is the same it's just the outside that's narrower as you go from 9-11 speed. Should work fine.

    Yes sorry that's right - I wish to use a 10 speed Ultegra 6700 Crankset with 11 speed 5800 105 front & rear mech's.

Just wondering why now Chainsets are being sold as specific 10 or 11 speed if they are compatible with both?

It's just to indicate that the cranksets are newer.
