10 speed chainset with 11 speed drivetrain??

I'm putting together a build using 5800 105 11 speed shifters & mech's and have a 6700 10 speed chainset I would like to use.
Will this cause issues in shifting from small to big ring if I use an 11 speed chain or do I need a specific 11 speed chainset????

The inside of all chains is the same it's just the outside that's narrower as you go from 9-11 speed. Should work fine.0 -

The inside of all chains is the same it's just the outside that's narrower as you go from 9-11 speed. Should work fine.
Yes sorry that's right - I wish to use a 10 speed Ultegra 6700 Crankset with 11 speed 5800 105 front & rear mech's.
Just wondering why now Chainsets are being sold as specific 10 or 11 speed if they are compatible with both?0 -
