Any tried a castelli perfetto gilet or the sportful no rain one? I'm looking for a packable, wind and rain resistant gilet.

I've a nice soft shell rapha gilet buts it too bulky to pack into a pocket.

Sportful Fiandre gilet is good. Nice, soft and stretchy softshell material. Pretty packable too.

If you want something that packs really small then the Sportful Hotpack is good to but that's more of an emergency layer than the Fiandre which is good to wear all day.

The Morvelo gilets are also nice. Similar light softshell on the front to the Fiandre but the rear is a more breathable fabric.

Well Rapha Pro Team Rain Gilet is really stylish and I probably will choose that myself.

It's not the most packable out there but do-able. And in terms of value impossible to beat.

    Facebook? No. Just say no.
  • I''m on the lookout for a new gilet but something with a bit more visibility than the DHB.

Thinking of picking up a Rapha brevet gilet when their sale starts

I have the Castelli and its really good. I've been wearing it over my long sleeve pro team jersey the last few rides when its been cold and damp rather than wearing a jacket. The material on the rear has quite a lot of stretch so it easily stretches over the jersey when the pockets are full. The fit is tight and it breathes really well. It packs away into pockets if you need take it off.

The chapeau Gillette is very good, I'm well impressed with it

Get the bright orange dhb gilet then. Outstandingly bright. And about £20 and easily fits in a pocket.

If you want a sturdier one take benders advice.
