tubeless fix - leaking through rim joint [alpkit rumpus]

Setting up a set of B+ wheels tubeless - alpkit rumpus rims. Taped and tyres have gone up nae bother, seated well, but one of them is hissing air through the alloy rim joint - I guess this is welded in some rims but not here. Can anyone recommend a fix for this - some sort of glue over the top?

I am also using the clear Gorilla repair tape - also wondered if a more sticky adhesive might be better for this problem.

The issue is it is leaking past the tape, the air should never get to the rim joint as the tyre seals to the tape and not the rim.

Any non welded rim will appear to leak at the rim joint if it's leaking through the tape, or it could come out the valve hole or a spoke hole.

  • Thks The Rookie, sounds like a re-taping is in order then. I'll try that and see if it works.
