Cassette compatibility

Hello guys, here I'm with some noob questions. Here they are:

1) Are there 12x142 Shimano hubs? Or it's only SRAM spesific, or something other?

2) Are 11 speed cassettes (like SLX M7000) fit 10x135 hubs? As I know the answer must be "yes", but, why then on sites 10x135 hubs says "8/9/10 speed"?

The hub width and axle size make no difference to hub compatibility.
A standard freehub will take any freehub type cassette except SRAM 11 speed which needs an XD driver hub.

    1) 142 is the shoulder-to-shoulder width from end cap to end cap. Some hubs are fixed at 142mm but loads of hubs can be converted to 142mm if they have interchangeable end caps. It has nothing to do with whether the hubs are Shimano or SRAM.

    2) It depends on the free hub. An 11 speed shimano cassette will fit on a 8/9/10 speed free hub but an 11 speed SRAM cassette will require XD free hub.

From all the questions you have asked over the last few weeks it appears that you want to build a high-end bike but don't know much about how things work, how a bike goes together or what components are value for money or any good.
Wouldn't it be better for you to buy a standard, 'off the shelf' bike and learn how it works, how to set it up and how to maintain it and then build a bike at a later date?

Ahem, a 7speed 'standard freehub' will not take any conventional (read Shimano and then copied by SRAM et all) freehub type cassette, but I agree an 8/9/10/MTB11 speed standard freehub will take any cassette.

SRAM do make some Shimano compatible 11 speed, but indeed any XD cassette can only fit an XD freehub.

Thanks for reply dude, just wanted to make it clear for you. I know more than 95% of guys who calls themselves "pro" in my country, but actually mountain biking is not popular here yet, that's why I'm still learning. And much important problem is that we have not local bike store to visit and see everything by our eyes, that's why it's hard to get everything in 1 tick. By the way I think at least I have enough knowledge for a bike owner of 6 months. I know some guys here who have MTB for 7 years and don't even know what is the difference between RockShox Reba and Pike)))
