I am a high school student who is working on an engineering project to fix the problem of visual awareness and safety of bikers. Ignore the agressive posts. The problem you have is that visual awareness isn't something you can engineer out. Its much more of a psychological problem. No matter what cyclists do, the average motorist will be either completely unaware, or will actively think they're more important. Lit up like a Christmas tree & hi vis/reflective, you still get the 'Sorry Mate, I didn't see you'.
Its not restricted to cyclists. Yhe average motorist doesn't seem to be able to move their stare from a narrow slot about 10 feet in front of their bonnet.

since you now have some spare time due to not doing the survey you could always fill it by posting pictures of women in bikinis if you wanted!
