Tacx/any turbo on carpet

As above, any tips of using a trainer on carpet because my Tacx Vortex is not stable. There's a fair bit of side to side movement and rocking when pedalling and I'm only on approx 1cm carpet. Tried with an without a training mat.
Only thing I can thing of doing is placing some solid wood between the trainer and carpet to see if that helps otherwise I may need to use another room

It shouldn't rock that much on carpet unless you've got really thick shagpile that tickles your ankles as you walk (in which case your dungeon is seriously weird/ sleazy).
^^ this is my plan. In a nutshell - I won't be touched the saddle height or way i pedal as it's setup very well. This is only happening due to the give in the carpet. The bike rocks slightly even when not pedalling.
I will try a platform and go from there. Really don't want to move it out of my man cave!
