I am looking to invest in buying a few Shimano Ultegra small chainring spares.

Currently I have a 50/34 and I am thinking of getting a 36 or 39.

My question is can I change 34 to 36 or 39? Or do I have to stick with 34?

No, you don't have to stick with 34

    Thanks!
  • Or you could just go to a nice tight cluster on the rear and gain tighter gearing in both rings.....
  • Also depends on what Ultegra you have, if it's 6700, then no you can't change rings.
Not without a missmash of aftermarket parts anyways.

Of course you can change the rings. The inner ring is a standard 5-bolt fit anyway.

If you buy a 39t make sure it is 110BCD and not 130BCD.
