Hello,

I am looking at purchasing a look 765 but I am a little bit confused at the manufacturers frame sizes.

http://www.lookcycle.com/en/wp-content/ ... C-765-.pdf

The manufactueres geometries state the large frame seat tube at 535mm, the XL frame at 560mm. These seem a bit smaller than other manufacturers frame sizes for large and XL frames.

I'm 6'1, inside leg (84cm) and of average build. I am interested to know if anyone has got any experience of the look 765 frame sizes or if anyone has any advice on which frame size would be best. Unfortunatly there is no local stockist so I am not able to go and try one out.

Thanks.

  • Was looking at one of these in the summer.
I am 6 foot 1 with 33 inch inseam but have freakishly long arms so was between the L & XL. I would advise you try one out in a shop if at all possible. After trying one out at Pedal Revolution Norwich I ended up with the L with a 120mm stem & dropped a couple of spacers. Luckily they are only an hour from me as otherwise the only other stockist I could find was in Ludlow! By the way, compared to my 9 year old Ali/Carbon mix Lemond the difference in comfort is noticeable, after a 6 hour ride on the 765 I felt a lot less beaten up than on my old bike.
Don't know if that's due to the flax inserts in the frame or could be new bike syndrome. Either way I'm very happy with my purchase.
  • Thanks for the info, that's useful. May I ask what your seat tube measures in at? (Just so I know I've got the large and xl sizes right)

    Look used to size small - I'm 6'2 and rode a 585 with a 13cm stem which I did change to a 12 but I'm not as young as I was ..

I don't know about the 765 but if the sizing is still along the same lines you'd definitely be an xl - of course it may not be.

what does it matter what the seat tube is?

the XL has almost a 590mm Top Tube, so maybe the L at 570 might be better but you really need to try one out first.
Ring epic cycles, the guys there are very helpful, even if your not buying from them, infact buy from them, they are competitive.

In which case the sizing definitely has changed since I had mine - think the XL 585 was a 57.5 top tube.

It is an expensive bike to buy without at least sitting on one but if you can't stack and reach might help ?

Sold one of the today. For the OP it will be the large. My 795 is large I am the same height and roughly normal (proportionally) has a 572.5mm top tube. I use a 130mm stem and that is a very stretched out position.

the XL will be way to big.

  • Lots of great advice here. I had a chat with epic cycles which was useful and is been great to hear what you guys who've ridden a 765 think.

Also compared the stack and reach of my current bike to the look 765; that was a good tip.

I contacted look. They said probably a large but you need to try a bike to be certain. Nice of them to reply though.

I now understand that I really need to sit on one, to be 100% so I'm going to mull it over for a while.

Thanks again for the input, I'm very grateful.

    Hello tremulant,

What did you end up buying? If you did, what do you think about the bike ?

I was a bit confused by the dimension of the bike too. I am 1 m 81 cm height, 86 cm inside leg, trunk 60 cm.

    Cheers
