Hi,
I have an Scott Scale 935 2016. I bought myself a new pair of wheels. DT Swiss XM-1501, they use a 142x12 axel. My old wheels use a 5mm throw axel that is 135 mm of length. The derailleur hanger seems to be replaceable. Can you change the original below with the one I found for 142-12?
Original one looks like this:

Thanks in advance!

Not a chance, what relevance the mech hanger has is beyond me when the rear of the bike is 7mm too narrow, thee is a slotted dropout not an enclosed circle and it's 2mm too small on the other side!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Should have bought a wheel with the right size hub.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Check to see if you can buy an adaptor kit to convert the hub to the size you need as I'm sure you can convert some dt Swiss hubs to different axle sizes.
That's why I went hope on my bike as it so easy to convert between QR, 135x12 and 142 etc.0 -
The early 142 hubs were adapted 135's, the late ones are full width (so the 142 is actually a benefit) and can't be changed back.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Ah that's what I was thinking as my hope the hub is one size and the axle adapters make up the difference needed.
the op will have to exchange the wheels for another set, should be fine as they won't have been used.0 -
Just for information. I took a chance and ordered an kit from the link in the first post.
It worked perfect, the new dropout set was smaller then the older so the 142 hub fits perfekt. Almost so you think that Scott thought of this.
See the link for the old set below.

Good result.
Giant have done the same thing with the Trance frame. 2016 models came with 135mm rear hubs as standard but an adaptor kit like the one you used allows a change to a 142mm hub.“Life has been unfaithful
And it all promised so so much”
Giant Trance 2 27.5 2016 ¦ Sonder Broken Road 2021¦ Giant Revolt Advanced 2 2019 ¦ Giant Toughtroad SLR 1 2019 ¦ Giant Anthem 3 2015 ¦ Specialized Myka Comp FSR 20090 -
No way that adaptor will take a 12mm axle, looks more like a 142x12 to 135x10 adaptor!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Scott IDS2 dropout system allows 135 x 10 and 142mm x 12 with a change of hardware.
You should have been supplied with both options when you purchased the bike.
The dealer probably kept the bag of parts to sell.0
