I've just bought a Boardman CB Pro (2009) which comes with 2 Continental Race-king 2.1s.
I love the bike - fast & light, but the tyres (front at least) slip on roots.
I'm looking for a combination of fast, durable, grippy for UK bike parks & trails. Please can the more experienced among you recommend me one or two tyres?
Thanks in advance!

  • Hi

the race king is a ok tyre for uk summer time but not for winter in my view
the continental mountain king 2.2 is a good tyre for what your after
or a maxxis medusa. the mountain king has a bit less drag then the medusa but the medusa grips a bit more when in mud

thats what i used on my boardman HT Pro

If the race King are wire bead then the tread has the consistency of a plastic garden chair and about the same grip!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
