Whats tubes you all using, recently been trying out Halfords 700cc 25mm ones and have noticed more punctures (3 in 3 weeks), but to be honest winters here and hedge cutting season is in full swing and past 3 punctures have been caused by thorns. Using Pro 4 enduro rubber

  • Conti for butyl and Vittoria for latex, but punctures aren't very often caused by inner tubes. Get some sturdier tyres.
  • Tubeless/ tubular
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

Have found no difference at all between Conti, Michelin and Valvert or whatever those ones in the black box with white writing are called.

I just buy whatever is on the best deal at the time - must admit to not getting non branded ones though.

I agree on the tyres thing, they may be old or just have poor puncture protection. I use latex tubes an had one puncture which was a lump of glass ripping through the tyre.
  • I moved from Conti Butyl to Michelin Latex earlier this year. Only had one puncture since and love the feel (and weight saving).

They lose pressure so need pumping up every other day, but great find.

Posting another question....any tips for Winter Tubes. Local bike shop advised sticking with Latex as they are more pliable and deformable and resistant to punctures because of it - but their thinner nature meant I couldn't avoid my replacement tube bursting through the puncture sidewall hole I had on Sunday :(

What he said. 3 punctures all caused by thorns...changing to a different type/brand of tube won't change didly squat.

Butyl seems a bit like something from a bygone age now.

But Continental when I did use them.

Im sticking with latex but im running some tougher tyres with that. End of the day if an errant bit of debris wants in, itll get in.
