Not the biggest decision but Moon Comet for £15 or Aldi Nebula knock off for £13???

Can't believe I'm hopping on the USB rear light band wagon. I miss the days you'd replace a couple of AA cells every 3 months. 100 lumens and 8 modes, that's not progress......

  • Aldi, just better and brighter. If you're worried about them breaking, get two. But, if you can find them, they're more likely around £6.99 now so get three or four.

Where you gonna get one from?
Sold out online and not seen any left in the stores for weeks.

As an Aldi regular they look after me.

They had some left in the Penge store (6 front and 4 rear left now).

Thanks to Bender I've now come back with two when I only needed one.

How about this? Seems a great price. Got one on my Christmas list (already got a Comet which has been excellent to be fair)

As an slight aside - I've got one of the Aldi 'Nebulas' and it's excellent, nearly too bright (in fact I'll say on full power it is too bright to follow but as I can't see it....)
    I also bought these- https://www.aldi.co.uk/front-and-rear-l ... 9062109500
The rear is nearly as good as the above, and as you get a front thrown in for a tenner you really can't go wrong; a viable alternative if they've sold out of the 'Nebulas'.

  • These are the same thing: http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/LIJOCANO/j ... able-light

Keep an eye on the PX sales and flash sale dales, pretty sure these will come up at a lower price. I bought 2 for £10 last year after my Moon comet failed, these are still going strong.
  • Used the "nebulas" for the first time at the weekend and they're great.

As much as I love clogging the house with "spares", I don't need two sets though so if anyone wants a pair let me know and I can either meet at Canary Wharf or post them if needed. Better than taking them back for someone who wouldn't appreciate them.

Everybody needs at least two rear lights. As you cant see them when riding then you do not know if one has stopped because the battery ran out, it developed a fault or dropped off. However small the chances, the fact that you wouldnt know when riding means its not worth the risk. Second one doesnt need to be a super bright light though - something which lasts longer on a charge but is not so bright gets my vote as the second (or third etc).
  • hypster is having the spare rear I've got. While I'm off to the post office, anyone want the spare front?

Just don't leave your spare in your jersey pocket and put it through the wash.... :(

I also bought the two pack Aldi lights for £9.99 https://www.aldi.co.uk/front-and-rear-l ... 9062109500.
They don't last. The rear has had a few wettings and packed up. I took it apart and you can see the muddy water trail in it.

Errr, the point is that the spare should also be on your bike - it's not much use in your pocket while you ride unlit...
