Niner RLT 9 SS opinion

Hi all,
I am looking to get back into 'cross after a 7 year absence.
I have been tempted by a Giant TCX Advnaced Pro 2 but there is an altrnative...
I know I'm not going to be competing with the big boys, so wondered about making it a bit more "fun"!
I used to have a Gary Fisher 29er single speed mtb and loved it, so I am seriously considering buying a Niner RLT 9 frameset and building it up as a single speed.
I'd be able to build it to the exact spec I want, including TRP hydro's, tasty race wheels etc.
I run geared all year, but just thought this would be good fun.
I wondered what your thoughts are of the frameset, and the idea of the SS?
