Mudguard mounted lights (on SKS Chromoplastics)

Has anyone much experience with rear lights that replace the reflector on "proper" mudguards? Just got a pair of SKS Chromoplastics and it seems a free lunch to replace the reflector with a light and then not have to bother with a light on the seatpost.

Slightly concerned they won't be very bright though and that maybe they would stress the guards quite a lot as my impression (possibly completely wrong) is that Chromoplastics are at the less solid but light end of the market. Are they weight and does swapping batteries etc put strain on them.

This sort of thing:

Also, are there any options that don't have the reflectors but concentrate more on the light?

Many thanks

I had a Fenderbot for two years on my chromoplastics till it died recently, I'm guessing daily use in all weathers was a little too much. I think I saw them on SportsPursuit recently for £15 -ish but would prefer something USB chargeable now despite having plenty of Duracell AAAs at home.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
