Hi, I'm looking for a new bike for doing a lot of things ...
I need a gravel/adventure bike that can fit cross tires for 2/3 cross races per year, I need rack mounts for summer bike trips and commute to work. My budget is £1000.
So in my wishlist there is :
Saracen Hack 2

Planet X London Road :
https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CBPXLDNRI ... -road-bike
Genesis Croix de Fer :
https://www.evanscycles.com/en-fr/genes ... e-EV258263
But not sure if steel can be a good choice for me.
What do you think is the best choice for me ?
Thanks !

I've never ridden any of them, but if it was my money I'd get the planet X. 11 speed and hydro brakes.0

Have a look at Rose bikes too. I ride a DX and it's a capable all rounder0

Cycling Plus have a review of do-it-all bikes in their current issue.
Their vote goes to the Raleigh Mustang Elite at ~£1000
http://road.cc/content/review/177153-ra ... tang-elite
SRAM 1 x 11 drivetrain and TRP Hy/Rd cable/hydraulic disc brakes
If you must have full hydraulics then you could opt for the Mustang Comp at £15000 -
Not sure if they've changed in the last few years but the Croix de Fer was tighter on tyre clearance than my Pro6 when I was looking. I'd want full hydraulics if I was buying now.0

Yes in the C+ review the CDF tips the scales at 12.1kg - the Raleigh Mustang is 10.06kg. The CDF still sports a Chromoly fork while the Raleigh has a carbon fork.0
