OK so i have grabbed a bargain carbon frame (after much deliberation) and it has come with a SRAM PF30 to BSA adapter. I was of the opinion that i can fit Shimano 105 5800 cranks straight in.

Upon receiving the frame and looking at the adapter, something doesn't look right, obviously i don't know if i'm just seeing things or its because i want to use Shimano in a SRAM adapter thats throwing me.

Could some kind person (reliably) confirm that Shimano 105 cranks will indeed fit straight in?

TIA

  • They wont fit, the SRAM has a smaller diameter on the NDS
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

In a pressfit to BSA adapter you can fit any crank that fits BSA, including Shimano.
If a SRAM BB is fitted, you'll have to change that for a Shimano BB.

    Yes that's good.
Doesn't matter what brand the adapter is a.o. Praxis makes them too.
Obvious the BB's of Shimano and SRAM are different.
