Looking to use them for powedercoating my MTB

    Why not just stick to one thread?
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    Powder coating mountain bike frames is never good. It very quickly looks much worse than it did before.
    I wouldn't use any process on an aluminium frame which uses heat, it's not good for them.

    Agreed, much prefer paint, it marks a little easier but scratches and scrapes don't lead to a peeling in the way you can get with powder coating.

  • Well after a long think and looking over the internet and various feedback decided against it save my pennies instead.

    Worn paint on a mountain bike looks good. It looks like it's been used as intended by its designer.
    There's something wrong with a mountain bike which looks like new unless it's straight out of a showroom.
  • Well to be fair i normally cant see the worn paint with all the dirt so yeah you are right there
