I am ready to move to a road bike, but I did not know the many road bike options out there. I have been riding a 2013 Cannondale Trail SL 4 S for 3 years. I would like to buy a good road bike for long distance. My budget 1500. I am 170 cm and my leg length 76 cm, also have some minor lower back problems. I ride an average of 2,800 km a year, mainly rides on paved roads of 45 to 60 km. I am working on doing more distance, any help will be appreciated.

Have you got a local bike shop?

Cannondale make good road bikes, something like a Synapse may be suitable.
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

A decent shop will offer a bike fit and will typically deduct the cost from your purchase. A good fit will minimise discomfort but it won't make your back 'better' - might be worth consulting with a physio / specialist to see what they recommend first?
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Fit is key if you have a bad back.

Many bikes at this point.Agree cannondale would be a good place to start. I like Kuota bikes which may squeeze into your budget - there aren't many bad bikes. I suppose disc or no non disc and if you want to start plonking mudguards on are you're bigger decisions.
Perhaps if you want a full on race position or a sportive (more upright position) is worth consideration - although a good fit is still required IME.
