First post to forum and hoping it will be a useful source of advice.
About to embark on winter upgrade of summer bike from 105 5700 to Ultegra 6800. Have acquired majority of components from various sources, couple of detailed questions - which bolts would benefit from loctite and is there a single grease recommended for fitting cassette and fastening bolts such as on brakes. Determined to do a good a job as possible.

You'll probably get on fine without any grease or loctite. The cassette doesn't need grease really but it wont do any harm. It's a good idea the put grease around the freehub seal to help keep water out, and around the hub end caps. The brake caliper attachment threads have a compound applied at the factory. No need to apply anything to the cable bolts. You can grease the cassette lockring and the braze on bolt that attaches the front derailleur to the frame.0
