Hello fellow bikers. I acquired this set of wheels for my XC bike, and I wonder can anyone identify the name and/or manufacturer of the hubs on them. The wheels are from a specialized stumpjumper sworks, 2013 model. One of the rims has got a 2012. engraved inside. The rims are Roval, and the spokes are DT swiss. Front hub is a 9mm TA, and the rear is a standard QR. Sealed bearings in both of them.

    That's visible.

The nearest I've seen to that style are Chin Haur made hubs, there are quite a few around under various brand names such as American Classic and A2Z.

They are just the standard Specialized Stout hubs. Rebranded DT Swiss Onyx, I think.

  • so...basically crap, or good to go? Freewheel is my main concern. Longeivity and durability.

  • well, i thought there are some facts about the hubs circling around. Like shimano M758 arw prone to breakage. I googled dt Swiss onyx, and they are pretty reliable.

As cooldad says, just ride and see.
I have them on my 2011 Stumpjumper and they have been fine. No problems with the freehub or bearings so far.
