No cycling today, as I do daddy day car whilst the current wife spends a fortune at the hairdressers. I will take them to theatre club and then over to my grandparents.

Later is out with friends to a fireworks display at a local all girls school followed by the pub (thankfully)

    Flooring HD? Something I haven't done...yet.

But, here we go, I am toying with doing a plastering course. Must have bumped my head at some time without realising. I've only ever done bits and pieces, not 'wholesale' plastering.

Chores, cooking, chores and more cooking and drinking.

As I don't drink much I need to crack on with the cooking before the cork comes out

Sadly yes, not the ideal finish but we're hoping to build an extension on the back next year so it'll be coming up again.

My mitre saw is my best friend. I measure 1cm over and slowly slice off until the fit is perfect. Without it, I would be f*cked. I fancy some of that Bamboo based flooring available in all shades at Jewson's. It's very hard wearing and relatively inexpensive.

  • Good idea, the skirtings in an ideal world would sit on top or the flooring but as its temporary it's just butting up with some sealant to finish it off.

Slow star has been had followed by lazing and feeling rough due to man flu. All this talk of flooring reminds me I need to do the floor in the shower room.

Decided it's a day for small jobs. Opened up the dead CD player to try and fix it, expected dirt on the sensor to be the problem. Unfortunately not, it won't spin up. Much as fixing it appeals I think it may be dead.
Fettling the bike next, I know how to do that so success is more likely.

Coffee, ride in the crisp autumnal weather and saw an airborne skirmish between a buzzards and two crows.

    No stoats were harmed
  • Cider, beer, wine, sloe gin.
The yew tree in my garden has an amazing amount of berries and I am watching a thrush eat them. I don't think it will fly it has scoffed so many. Beautiful bird, though.

    Ciao

Finished work for the day now hanging around waiting for The Boy to finish afternoon rehearsals for his show this evening before working a door for a few hours then taking a shattered boy home so expect pointless postings as the evening goes on....

    Repeat ad nauseum tomorrow.

    Loadsamoney....

Long drive North, weather was crap but roads were clear. Now watching the SKY football commentary. I guess it will be fish 'n' chips later, with some cider in lieu of Nurofen :)

He's so sensitive, he probably lives in an oxygen bubble with his laptop and a tub of E45.
