Crack from front of bike
Hey guys,
On the commute home tonight I hit a crack in the road at speed and heard a quite loud crack. I stopped to check and no visible signs of damage and took to a bike shop and 2 of them couldn't see anything either.
My wheels are dura ace c50 clinchers so aluminium and carbon and a carbon frame (2011).
Any ideas what this could be or where to check for damage?

Might just have been your handlebars or saddle moving0

The handlebars/stem mount could have been the cause .. you might not notice if they have moved ever so slightly downwards... it can sound like a gun shot.0

Yeah my first thought was the bars have moved round. They make that noise.0

Thanks guys. That's put my mind at ease0

Your pockets must be deeper than mine; wouldn't be commuting in the dark on Dura Ace C50s.

Just a bit naive maybe. They seemed to be fine in warmer weather with potholes so I use them in the winter :twisted:0
