What helmet?

Just picked up a voodoo bizango to dip my toe into MTB. Going to be riding trails mainly around Woburn Sands. Longer term some cross country trails in the mountains of Wales, ride the canal to central London etc. Maybe even race a couple of the Friday night races round the central region.
What sort of helmet should I buy? I see enduro or XC styles as perhaps the ones to buy? Planet X ones were 25 quid I think last week.

One that fits, fit is more important than anything else.
Not seen them, but PX stuff is usually pretty good, so worth a punt as long as you accept you may have to send it back.
Bell or Btwin from decathlon are good value and worth using.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
Thanks. I ride quite a bit of road and TT so I know fit is important. I am leaning towards a Kask Rex now. Would anyone put me off?0

I've just bought a Giant Rail helmet with MIPS, it was a bit pricey at £90 but worth spending the money when it's your head you're protecting, so far so good, it's really well ventilated and a perfect snug fit. Looked into MIPS and would recommend getting one with it, just to help take some of the force out of an impact. Best of luck.0
