DT Swiss 240 End Cap Compatibility

I'm looking at picking a set of used wheels for my CX bike. I have DT Swiss hubs on my MTB bike. I like them a lot so will probably stick with DT Swiss for the CX bike as well (hub brand is outside the scope of this thread).

First, I assume if I want 6 bolt disc brake compatible hubs I have to get them that way. No converter for that?


I'm wondering if all 240s Hubs can use all end caps. Or are there any that aren't compatible.

E.g. (front) if I pick up a set of 100mm QR hubs can they be converted to 9mm TB, 12mm TA, 15mm TA and 20mm TA and vice versa? Or are there any conversions that aren't possible? It seems like maybe there are some older hubs that can't take a 20mm TA conversion?

E.g. (rear) if I pick up a set of 135mm QR hubs can they be converted to 10mm TB, 12mm TA and 15mm TA?

Next what about boost spacing? Is that just an end cap as well? Or are hubs different widths? (e.g. can I take a 148mm 12mm TA and make it 142mm 12mm TA? What about 148mm to 135mm?).

Also wondering if end caps are interchangeable between 240s and 350 hubs (part numbers look the same).

Dt swiss do a whole range of end caps not all of them imported by madison but all the major standards are. They are the most convertable hubs out there.
