Garmin 800 & gsc10, auto pause on at high speed

The last 3 rides I've done the auto pause keeps kicking in after a fast down hill section, usually topping 35-45 mph. It the just keeps cutting and out every few seconds, bleeping driving me nuts. Yesterday it settled down but as soon as the speed/ cadence picked up it would auto pause and show erratic speeds (0- whatever).

The average speed seems way out. When loaded to strava the ride is complete with a higher average speed.

Any clues how to fix this?

Grateful

the GSC10 works on reed switches triggered by your magnet on the wheel - sounds like the magenet isn't close enough or perhaps strong enough to activate the switch at high speed.
If you think it is then first stop is to replace the battery in the unit - CR2032 - cheap and easy to replace .

Slowbike, thanks I will try that and report back.
  • Or if it's like the 2 GSC-10 sensors I had (one was a warranty replacement for the other), the reed switch in one or other sensor gave up after a ride in the wet (not racing through puddles, fording every stream etc - just damp roads).
