Replacement stem bolts

Looking for replacement stem bolts for my deda stem. The deda replacement bolts are listed at M5 x 17mm but are pretty expensive. A look on Ebay has bolts at 16mm and 18mm (17mm seems an odd size). Thoughts are to go with 18mm. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work?
