Fitting a dropper into a whyte 901

Hi guys, fairly new to mtbing having just got my 901 a couple of months back and decided to take the plunge on a brand x dropper. Has anyone fitted a dropper post and is it just a matter of popping out the rubber grommets from the frame, drilling them through so you can feed the cabling through and reinserting?
Doesn't look too arduous but just wanted a second opinion.
