Picking my 6yo a BMX Freestyle?

Hi

My 6yo loves to go to bike parks and skate parks and try new "tricks"
The bike he has is now is small (12 wheel) and heavy and it´s not enough anymore.
I was searching for the right BMX and found some interesting ones, with good quality from brands like specialized and haro:

http://www.bikes2udirect.com/B7462.html (haro)

https://www.specialized.com/au/en-au/bi ... oys/106519 (specialized)

However none of those have the 360 gyro rotor to allow him to spin the front wheel. (he saw some older kids doing that and wants to start doing it)

I did found two 16 wheel BMX with 360 gyro rotor, but I have no idea if their quality is good, not to heavy etc..

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rooster-Radica ... B01IT4L5TS (could not find much information)

https://www.cycleking.co.uk/bmx/standar ... wheel.html (some reviews I found for this brand are not the best, so I think this one is not an option)

So I come here asking for some advice...the options are to just ignore for now the gyro (my kid is still very young...) and buy him the haro or the specialized....or add the gyro to one of these bikes (not sure if it is possible or advisable) or go for the ones with the gyro, probably the rooster...but I have no idea of it´s quality...

Looking forward to your comments

  • The Haro 16 is a good bmx bike.
The Specialized is nothing like a bmx bike - the coaster brake is a death trap for any kind of tricks.
The gyro is completely unnecessary. Standard bmx freestyle bikes come with very long brake cable lines to allow for single bar spins - so he will be able to practice them if he has the talent. At 6 years old, it is likely a non-factor. Skip the gyro.

Most important factor is to check crank length/size. Attempt to get 127mm, but 140mm seems to be the norm.
