OT: compact home stereo things

I just bought a bluetooth dongle for £2 that works with my existing stereo.

Does the same thing.

Not quite. Airport Express, I bought 3 to act as Airtunes streamers nearly 10 years ago, are each connected to a HK Soundsticks with a 3.5mm-jack cable. Music is streamed from iPhone to main router (Airport Extreme) and thence to the Express/Soundsticks. So no, not wifi speakers, just up-market PC speakers with very good bass.
Alas, my Linn Sondek LP12, Quad pre- and power-amps and Heybrooks HB2 speakers are incompatible with i) wife ii) 3 cats and iii) flexible floorboards not necessarily in that order.
