Offset Headset

I am thinking of getting an offset headset for my Cube LTD SL 29er hard tail. In its original configuration it was set up for XC so long stem and a flat bar etc. I tend to do more trail riding than XC so I ended changing to a shorter stem and upgrading to 760mm bars which work very well on the trail. Ideally I would like a slightly longer travel fork (120mm) but its not something I can afford at the moment but during my search online I came across offset headsets which slacken the head angle between 1-2 degrees.
Just wondering if anyone in the forum used these before and can share their experiences?
