Watched the women's yesterday .... watching the men's today ......

Where are the spectators or have the Qatar govt kept everyone out ???

    It's been on for a week though so we re kind of over the lack of spectators...

    baking hot in the day, anyone who can afford a/c is inside enjoying it, others are sheltering as best they can

    the circuits were out on the pearl, an enclave for the better off and westerners, anyone else there is probably on a building site or a service worker

    cycling is not a preferred local sport or leisure activity, for many the attitude will be that the only reason to be on a bike is because you're too poor to have a car, the driving standard is, ahem, variable, which doesn't help

    today is a normal business day as well, probably makes little difference though
    my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny
