A cure for iffy Shimano shifting - who'd thunk it?
In a nutshell, my Dura Ace 10 speed rear shifts had been below par from new and nothing I tried brought it up to scratch. I was on the verge of getting rid and upgrading to 11 speed but I thought I would try one last thing. I bought some BBB aluminium pulleys with ceramic bearings. Hey presto, super slick shifting.
I don't suppose the alu or ceramics have anything to do with this; but I do think the fact that BBB pulleys have no float may very well be significant.
Worth a try if you have persistent shifting problems.

As is completely cleaning out all the gunk in the shifter and re-greasing.
