Just damaged stanchion on RS Sektor RL Gold, 26 inch, 2014 model.
It's on the drive side.
What to do?
I'm thinking that as its on the damper side and the damper is isolated from the lubricating oil, the only issue could be subsequent damage of the seal and the bushing. This being so, I'm just thinking that keeping an eye on them and the oil bath is the only thing I can do.
Is is worth trying to smooth out the damage and if so with what?
I guess if top end is available, it'll probably cost a fortune.

http://regensuspension.co.uk/prices/ seems to suggest it needn't cost the earth to repair. Would at least be worth a quote from them?

    A DIY repair isn't difficult.
Fill the scrape with araldite. Leave it to go hard and then rub it down very carefully with 1500 grade wet and dry wrapped around something flat and solid, like a file. Rub it down following the radius of the stanchion. Keep an eye on the surface of the stanchion, you should barely touch it.
I've done a couple this way, I did one of them three years ago and it's still fine.. Take your time with it and

    Thanks for info you guys.
Waiting for reply to enquiry to Regen Suspension. Starting prices for stanchion replacement looks good.
Just flattened the burrs with carborundum stone. Just the scratches left.
Rockmonkey, was it standard Araldite you used?

Yep. It's a repair motorcyclists have been using for decades.
