Converting 2014 Whyte t-129s to 1x10

I am considering changing my standard SRAM 1400 GXP crankset to a raceface ride xc crankset and going 1x10
few questions,
Is the raceface a strictly better crankset? or shall I just change the chain ring? Don't mind spending a bit more to save grams 8)
What crank length should I go for (170/175mm)?
It comes with a new BB do I really need to fit this? My current BB is fine and don't have the tools to change it myself.
For a 29" with a 11-36 cassette bike is 32t generally considered the norm?
Thanks.

I'd just change the ring as its normally cheaper, crank length depends on leg length and wither you feel comfy on a shorter/longer length.0

Yeah I'm leaning more to just changing the ring. Its difficult to find weights on the 2 cranksets but what I've mananged to piece together so far is basically they're about the same.0

I run an XT crank and unless I go carbon there isn't any point in changing for weight purposes.0
