Want a new road bike for next summer - converted a hybrid and I now long for a proper aero road bike.

Don't want to spend the earth so currently scouring ebay for used frames.

However i've come across Hongfu, Velobuild etc. and I quite like this frame - https://sc01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1BZuyJFXX ... XFXXXt.jpg.

That's right it's a Hongfu 'Avenger R8' :o

Anyone built one of these before?

Seen on various forums that people have ordered and built them and actually they seem quite decent.

Yes....of course there are reports of them breaking and chinese frames are cheap etc etc. Not really interested in hearing all of that - would like to hear if someone has done it and how they got on? And if you have any advice on where to buy from?

The rear brake placement is a bit strange but other than that they look pretty nice - http://www.lambda-racing.de/images/aven ... 0R8%20(011).jpg

Cheers

    How much will that cost?
Have you considered a Chinese custom titanium frame?

Titanium Aero! Yes they do exist but are obscenely expensive.. you can pick up an aero frameset for about 500 quid so why the hell would you want titanium?

There are some good reports of this frame, no reason why it should break any sooner than any other chinese frame.

I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

Yes. Well done for ignoring the point.

    Titanium is cheap
    Aero is cheap.

    Titanium Aero NOT cheap

The op expressed his desire for an AERO road bike. Please do keep.up.

If you're in the market for an aero bike this is hard to look past, was reviewed well in the mags, full ultegra build for less than a grand....http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CBUBRRULT/ ... cial-build)?utm_source=The+Planet+X+and+On-One+Mailing+List&utm_campaign=398f00b454-231116&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_561486488b-398f00b454-271099537&mc_cid=398f00b454&mc_eid=1db38ef95c

It's virtually a Merida Reacto as is the Shark frame.

I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.
