It's a shame nowhere else in the country is any good for cycling apart from Yorkshire and Surrey.

I'd like to see Lancashire or Derbyshire get more involved. Maybe Gary verity can move to visit Lancashire once sky have won the tour with a Frenchman.

It's almost like they're the areas where the authorities have welcomed pro-cycling, isn't it?

Maybe other counties are not cycling friendly

    This is absolutely not correct.
  • Excellent news! :)

that certainly wasn't the case with north Yorkshire council and local road racing a couple of years ago.

    Mmmm.
Perhaps not the best choice for the desired parcour.

I can't wait for my local news websites to have the typical comments from the pond life... Will Peter Sagan stop at red traffic lights, he doesn't pay car tax, he's such a menace.

    * Im guessing Sagan, on his rockstar money, has paid significantly more tax, compared to them.

York Press already does, sadly. 'Cycling' is like catnip to the nutters - it's worse than mentioning Sky over on the clinic.
