Crankset advice please

I have an oldish MTB and I have just replace the cassette and the chain, but also need to replace the chainrings as they are also pretty worn.
The current crankset is a Suntour 3 ring model with 42/32/22 but the rings are riveted and I cant swap, so I figure i need to get a new crankset and whilst I am about it, I should replace the BB as it is also worn.
the current cranks are square taper.
Should I just replace like with like and get a square taper 3 ring crank from any manufacturer, together with a replacement BB on square taper, or is there another option I should consider.
Also, are there any recommendations on crankset without spending over £50 UK ?
