Hi Everyone, after asking about a used Susser for under £600 and getting some good replies, I have Bought a 2008 Specialized FSR XC Pro as a project. Totally original and in fantastic condition. So now the fun starts, love the frame but want to uprate components. All the help and advice would be welcome.. Thanks in advance.

Is it the model with the vertical rear shock or the one that comes through the seat tube?

Whichever it is, the first thing I'd look at changing is the brakes if they are Avid Juicys. They work fine when new but once they need bleeding they are a complete PITA. Get a set of Deore or SLX brakes.
Wider bars will make for a nicer ride and improve the steering.
Depending on where you ride you might want to change the tyres for something wider than the stock Specialized Captain.
Get a dropper post. Everyone should have one. :)

Apart from that just ride it until components wear out or break and then upgrade.

Host the photos on a hosting site such as Photobucket and then paste the image URL for each photo in to a post on here.
