  • it is a bicycle, it is not worth chasing the odd chip and scratch, it will keep happening and you will spend hundreds of pounds on an item that will not retain any extra value because of a pristine paint job... it is not a classic car... it really isn't worth the bother, I hope any serious "painter" will tell you the same.
BTW From the photos it looks immaculate to me

If you like to keep your road bikes mint then apply copter tape on them when you build them. I do this and have removed it from several bikes before selling and they are still pretty much mint as you can get.

Places I do it are, wrapping the chainstays, under the downtube, under the fork crown. I also use pieces of it on all the places where cables will rub, accounting for how those cables will move as bars are turned etc.

On gloss bikes the biketart tape is great and really hard wearing and disappears well. On matt bikes it's more of a pain as I've never found a matt copter tape that sticks really well and of course gloss tape will stand out. You find the matt stuff lifts at the edges after a while and dirt gets under and shows the edges, saying that it's only a problem on tighter curves.

I've had a couple of frames re-painted by Atlantic Boulevard - better than factory finish, but it's not cheap...
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
